Terms & conditions
The terms that apply to a quotation, and to installation, upgrade and maintenance work carried out under one.
These terms
These terms apply to quotations we issue and to installation, upgrade, inspection and maintenance work we carry out. Where a quotation or an order sets out something different, that document takes precedence over this page.
Quotations
Quotations are built from the building type, the installation scope and the equipment required. A quotation is valid for the period stated on it, and it is based on the information available when it was prepared. If a survey or a site visit shows the building or the existing installation to be different from what was described, the scope and the price are reviewed before the work continues.
Standards and certification references are cited as the basis on which the work is carried out. Citing a standard is not a claim to hold a particular certification, and no particular outcome can be guaranteed in advance.
Prices and currency
Prices are quoted in euros unless a quotation states otherwise. Whether a price includes or excludes tax and duties is stated on the quotation. Work outside the scope described in a quotation is priced separately and agreed before it is carried out.
Payment
Payment terms are set out in the quotation or the order. Larger installations may be invoiced in stages, and the stages are stated before the work starts. Sums that remain unpaid after their due date may attract interest at the rate allowed by the law that applies to the contract.
Programme, access and site conditions
Dates are agreed in good faith. Access to the site, safe working conditions, power, water and a secure place for materials and equipment are provided by the client. Where access or conditions change, timing may change with them. Delays caused by weather, equipment supply, or events outside our control are not treated as a breach of the agreed programme.
Changes, cancellation and postponement
Changes to a scope of work are confirmed in writing before they are carried out. Cancellation and postponement are handled under the terms of the order for that project. Work already carried out, and materials already ordered or supplied for the project, remain payable where a project is cancelled or postponed.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. Beyond that, our liability on a project is limited to the value of the work carried out under that contract.
Fire protection work is carried out to the standard and the specification that apply to the building. We do not warrant that a building will not suffer fire, or that a system will perform in a particular way in an event outside our control.
Complaints
If something is wrong with the work, tell us in writing at support@fyldefiresystems.com, or by telephone on +44 7972 736323, describing the issue and the site it relates to. We will respond, and where the issue is with work we have carried out, we will put it right.
Governing law
The law and jurisdiction that apply to a contract are stated in the quotation or the order for that project. Where nothing else is agreed in writing, the law and the courts that apply are those of the place where the work is carried out.
