What is collected when you use this site, why it is collected, who else sees it and how to ask us about it.
Who this policy is from
This policy covers fyldefiresystems.com, operated by Fylde Fire Systems Limited, a company registered in the United Kingdom under number 11678674. Questions about it, or about any personal data we hold, can go to support@fyldefiresystems.com.
What we collect
When you send a quote request or an enquiry through this site, the form asks for:
- the type of building and the scope of the work;
- your description of the equipment, drawings or existing system;
- your name, your email address and, optionally, a telephone number;
- your message, and your acknowledgement of this policy before the form will send.
Separately, the web server records standard technical information each time a page is requested — the IP address, the browser type and the time of the request — in its logs. Those logs are held by the hosting provider for security and fault-finding.
Why we use it
- to read your enquiry and reply to it;
- to prepare a quotation, or to arrange an inspection;
- to carry out work and record it, if an order follows;
- to keep the records we are required to keep.
We do not use enquiry details for marketing, we do not build profiles from them, and we do not sell or rent them to anyone.
What the lawful basis is
Replying to an enquiry and preparing a quotation are handled as our legitimate interest in responding to a business request. Carrying out work is handled as performance of a contract. Where records are kept after that, it is to meet the legal obligations that apply to construction and to fire safety work.
Who else sees it
Two kinds of supplier are involved: the provider that hosts this website and its database, and the email service through which the enquiry notification is sent. Both process the data on our instructions. We do not pass enquiry details to anyone else unless we are required to by law.
How long it is kept
Enquiry details are kept while the enquiry is live, and afterwards for the period in which any resulting contract might still need to be evidenced. Server logs are kept by the host for the shorter period used for security purposes. When neither applies, the data is deleted.
Cookies and storage on your device
The site stores one preference on your device to remember whether you accepted or rejected the cookie notice, and it loads one external resource for its typefaces. Both are set out in full, with how to change the choice, on the cookies page.
Your rights
Under data protection law you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, ask us to restrict what we do with it or object to it, and ask for it in a portable form. Write to support@fyldefiresystems.com and we will respond. If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live or work.

If what we collect, or why, changes, the text on this page is updated. The wording shown here is the current version.
